Without professional treatment parodontium disease can cause dramatic consequences. Most serious are tooth loss, gum decay, impossibility of future prosthetics. Most dangerous parodontium diseases are parodontosis, gingivitis and periodontitis. Therapeutic and surgical treatment methods are normally aimed at inflammation removal, reduction of tooth mobility and prevention of tooth loss.

First of all, at the first symptoms we recommend immediate visit to our clinic so as to make use of the conservative treatment while it is still possible. We are offering:

  • Professional teeth cleaning and removal of tartar with a UV scaler
  • Treatment of the gums and dentogingival pockets with application of medical solutions and pastes

In special cases the treatment course includes antibiotics and immunostimulating drugs program.

Parodontosis

Insufficient dental care cases appearance of tartar. The pathogenic bacteria in it make gum tissue loose breaking gingival joint. In the result tartar keeps getting inside damaging both gum and tooth enamel.

Parodontosis can be caused by pathologies of the cardiovascular system and the digestive tract, hypovitaminosis in particular.

The main signs of gum disease are bad smell, loose, bleeding and sensitive gum. After the complete breaking of the gingival joint a microbial plaque is formed. This is an indication of the beginning of the final stage of parodontosis that might be followed by a complete tooth loss.

Once gum disease has been diagnosed, we immediately start complex treatment. It includes:

  • physiotherapy procedures, massage and vitamin therapy
  • professional oral hygiene with ultrasonic cleaning
  • securing mobile teeth with splicing
  • orthopedist consultation

The treatment usually leads to positive results, however, it is important to remember that the earlier it begins the more chances are that the outcome will be good.

Gingivitis

Another parodontosis that we encounter most often is gingivitis - acute chronic inflammation of the gums. The main cause of gingivitis is incorrect oral cavity care or its absence. Along with that there are following risk groups:

  • children during teething period
  • women taking oral contraceptives for a long time
  • smokers
  • individuals regularly eating too cold or hot food

Manifestations of gingivitis can be seen with the naked eye. These are puffiness, bleeding and ulceration of the gums, their sensitivity and itchiness, especially during eating, bad smell and visually detectable tartar accumulations. Sometimes the pathology is accompanied by the pronounced pain syndrome.

Patients with the diagnosed gingivitis have to start complex healing course which includes:

  • mandatory professional hygiene of the oral cavity with plaque and tartar cleaning
  • rinsing with antiseptic decoction and lubrication of affected areas with a special gel

Treatment of gingivitis in most cases has a favorable outlook. However a neglected chronic form can cause a tooth loss.

Periodontitis

The extreme form of gingivitis is periodontitis – inflammation of the periodontal tissue causing disruption of the tooth-jawbone connection. Periodontitis is accompanied by the typical signs of periodontal lesions: bad smell, tooth mobility, and painful feeling with gum pressure.

In the absence of periodontal treatment dentogingival pockets are formed and suppuration occurs, both leading to the potential tooth loss. Complications usually cause formation of gum abscesses and fistulas, leading to periostitis and lymphadenitis.

For periodontitis treatment we offer full sanitation of the oral cavity followed by the treatment of dentogingival pockets. In rare cases the treatment requires instrument curettage.

In order to prevent diseases prevention we advise our patients to thoroughly observe oral cavity hygiene, regularly visit our periodontists for prophylaxis, quit smoking and consume the food that helps self-clean the teeth.
